The Wii U Is Pretty Great

The Wii U often times goes over looked by the gaming community at large. Whenever I talk about consoles, its almost like pulling teeth to get someone to engage me in conversation about it. The simple fact is, Nintendo knows what they are doing. Anyone who doubts this need only look at their history to see for themselves. When Nintendo entered the gaming market, especially here in the US, there were a handful of competitors. Looking over that list shows companies that are no longer able compete or produce hardware. Atari, Sega, and Phillips, among others all have failed to continue what Nintendo started and succeeds with today. They have one of, if not the best catalogue of games, characters and outright awesomeness that we as fans truly love.

The landscape of gaming is entirely different than it was back then. However, Nintendo has remained not only relevant, but in the thick of things this entire time. The Wii U is one of their very best systems. People will complain about the hardware capabilities, GamePad or any other nonsense they can throw at it.  At the end of the day, the games speak for themselves and don't need someone to stand up and defend them. The Wii U now has an incredible line up of games that put it right along side the legendary consoles of old. And you know what? Most people don't even know that some of these games have come out.

With the Wii, it was easy to bash Nintendo for missing the mark, or even accusing them of not listening to their customers. Their most loyal fans are often the quietest in the crowd. But make no mistake, Nintendo is on the right track and now consistently blowing to doors off expectations with the Wii U.

Nintendo is here to stay.
