The New Apple Retail, A Rant

The past 2 weeks have been quite eventful in Apple land. Apple Watch and MacBook have been hitting the headlines and getting all of the attention. But what is getting, in many cases, more attention than the products are the experience buying them. April 10th is when the Watch and MacBook when up for sale/preorder. The problem many people are finding is that when they go into an Apple Store, they can't just simply buy what they want.

Granted, the Watch isn't released yet, but the MacBook is. The employees say you have to by the Mac from Apple.com and it will be shipped to you. This is the story across the board, you cant buy it in store. Same with Watch, when it goes up for sale on the 24th, no one can buy it in store. You can go see it and try it on, but have to buy online.

I bought my MacBook from Best Buy because they have them for sale and ready to ship right away, This is weird for Apple fans, even weirder for Apple at large. Never have you been forced out of the store. Apple really is sending customers to other stores or other methods of purchase because they don't have the product available. Even still, 1 week on, the MacBook cant be bought in an Apple Store, but go to BestBuy.com and they are there for you to get within the week. Apple.com has estimated shipping times 4-6 weeks out, STILL. What is going on? Is this what we can expect from Apple going forward? What's going to happen with the next iPhone release? Order it and we'll send it to you eventually? Come on Apple, you're hurting yourself more than you think.

The new head of retail Angela Ahrendts was brought in to manage the retail experience and bring it to new levels, but she is hurting it. Telling people to stay home and order online is the opposite of what they should be doing! This is literally costing Apple money and sales. They are sending customers to other stores to buy these things.

When in the world has an Apple Store not had a new Mac for sale? I've never seen this before and its freaking people out.
